Young Samurai: The Way of the Warrior has been long-listed for the prestigious CILIP Carnegie Medal.
The Carnegie Medal is awarded annually to the writer of an outstanding book for children.
For those who don’t know, this is considered the biggest children’s book prize of the year (think Man Booker Prize for Children) so it’s a serious honour. Chris Bradford’s debut novel is set alongside works by Eoin Colfer, Anthony Horowitz and Philip Pullman.

The shortlist is decided in April and the winner will be announced on 25 June 2009.
