In a previous life, Chris was a professional musician and songwriter who performed for HRH Queen Elizabeth II, the Notting Hill Carnival and appeared with his band on ITV, Channel 4 and Sky TV.


As a songwriter, Chris has written and worked with numerous professional songwriters, artists and production companies, including:


•Jiant Productions (Hearsay, The Spice Girls, Sugababes)

•Wise Buddah (Atomic Kitten)

•Justin Scharvona (Solasso)

•Dave Calhoqoun (Ian Brown 'F.E.A.R.')

•Iain Archer (Snow Patrol; Ivor Novello winner); and

•the legendary Graham Gouldman (10cc).


His own band, Clearway, was signed to indie record label Unreal Records (1997-2001) and released 2 albums. In his last incarnation as the acoustic act, Lease Of Life, he was the finalist in the UK Songwriting Competition and Songwriter Of the South, and supported James Blunt in concert.


Chris has written several music books based on his experiences and teaches composition at the Academy Of Contemporary Music, Guildford, in between his work as an author.  He was the Songwriting Tutor on E4’s School of Performing Arts (2007). Watch clip!
